Parish Assessment Toolkit

The Parish Assessment Toolkit is a comprehensive resource designed to guide pastors and parish leaders through the process of setting clear goals and implementing effective strategies in evangelization and catechesis. It includes an assessment for parish strengths and challenges, engagement of parishioners, and developing actionable plans aligned with Diocesan priorities and Church teaching.  

“Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity. She exists in order to evangelize, that is to say, in order to preach and teach, to be the channel of the gift of grace, to reconcile sinners with God, and to perpetuate Christ’s sacrifice in the Mass, which is the memorial of His death and glorious resurrection” (Evangelii Nuntiandi 14)

“The Church has always considered catechesis one of her primary tasks, for, before Christ ascended to His Father after His resurrection, He gave the apostles a final command – to make disciples of all nations and to teach them to observe all that He had commanded. (Matthew 28: 19 – 20) He thus entrusted them with the mission and power to proclaim to humanity what they had heard, what they had seen with their eyes, what they had looked upon and touched with their hands, concerning the Word of Life. (1 John 1) He also entrusted them with the mission and power to explain with authority what He had taught them, His words and actions, His signs and commandments.
