Fr. Adam Streitenberger appointed Executive Director of the St. Thomas More Newman Center

Effective July 12th, 2022, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes has appointed Fr. Adam Streitenberger, Diocesan Director of Evangelization, as the new Executive Director of the St. Thomas More Newman Center on The Ohio State University campus.

Bishop Fernandes commented saying, “This is the first step in an exciting and renewed vision for vocations and evangelization within the Diocese of Columbus, in which the St. Thomas More Newman Center will play a vital role.”

With over 60,000 students attending The Ohio State University, the Diocese is presented with an incredible opportunity for both the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the potential for future priests and religious.

The vision for the Newman Center will be intentional in its focus on the OSU students. As Executive Director, Fr. Adam Streitenberger will be responsible for directing and managing the entire life of the center and implementing a student-focused vision. The mission to the students, in building a culture of vocations and in fostering the Catholic intellectual life, is crucial to the future of the Diocese. The students, faculty and staff, and all who attend the center are an integral part of the life of the Diocese and, as such, would benefit by being integrated into the larger life of the Diocese of Columbus.

The Diocese is deeply grateful for the service of the Paulist Fathers at The Ohio State University. The Paulist Fathers were invited to continue their ministry as chaplains at the center.

Fr. Adam Streitenberger will help coordinate and integrate the center's efforts with diocesan evangelization initiatives. This approach will help in effectively aiding our young adults in their deeper conversion along their faith journeys and help them establish a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
