Donate to those affected by natural disasters
The diocesan Disaster Readiness & Response Network is coordinated through the Office for Social Concerns. The primary functions of the network are to be Christ’s presence when natural or human-made disasters occur within the 23 counties of the diocese and to help provide for unmet needs during the recovery and mitigation phases of a disaster. The Network collaborates with Catholic Charities USA, FEMA, and Ohio VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) at the state, national, and international levels.
The Network can provide technical assistance to parishes and parishioners before, during, and after a disaster; provide limited monetary and manual support; and provide and/or train others to offer spiritual care.
A key element to the network will be preparation and awareness education that will be available before disasters strike. The Diaconal Council representatives are the primary contacts between the parishes and the Office for Social Concerns.
