Family Catechesis Coordinator, Age 3 - Grade 4

As the Family Catechesis Coordinator for children aged 3 through Grade 4, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual growth of our youngest parishioners and their families. This position is not just about imparting knowledge of Catholic teachings but fostering a vibrant and engaging environment where faith comes alive. You will be responsible for developing age-appropriate catechetical programs, organizing family-centered activities, and providing resources and support to parents as they journey alongside their children in faith formation. Through creative and interactive methods, you will inspire a love for God and His Church while instilling values of compassion, service, and community.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Creates, organizes and maintains the curriculum for children ages 3-6 years old and students in grades 1st through 4th, for the *Journey with Christ Program.
- Acts as a direct contact for volunteers working with children in the Journey with Christ Program, specifically children ages 3-6 years old and students in grades 1st through 4th.
- Coordinate faith formation for children during Mass at both campuses.
- Participates in a scheduled rotation to cover Family Catechesis sessions with other team members.
- Assists in set up and clean up for Family Catechesis sessions.
- Collaborate with the Family Catechesis Manager on weekly emails to the Journey with Christ parents of children ages 3-6 years old and students in grades 1st through 4th.
- Create a list of supplies needed for in-person sessions.
- Collaborate with the Family Catechesis team in creating content for at-home Family Catechesis sessions.
- Collaborate with the Family Catechesis Administrative Assistant to follow-up with students that have attendance issues.
- Handle discipline issues for children and students ages 3-6 and 1st through 4th grade; can seek assistance from the Director of Family Catechesis and Pastor as deemed necessary.
- Collaborates with the Family Catechesis Manager in accomplishing tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the Family Catechesis Team to develop a calendar of events.
- Participate and assist with Vacation Bible School each June.
- Participate and assist with Totus Tuus each July.
First Reconciliation and First Communion Responsibilities
- Create and execute First Reconciliation and First Communion retreats, including make-up retreats.
- Help in the planning for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion, in collaboration with the Director of Sacred Music and Pastor, and other necessary parties.
*Please note our Journey with Christ program is our new Family Catechesis program.
