On behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Columbus, I am pleased to extend congratulations to my brother Bishop Edward Malesic of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on his appointment by Pope Francis as Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland. As a graduate of the Pontifical College Josephinum, Bishop Malesic now returns to Ohio, and we hope to see him often as he visits his former home here in Columbus. I am pleased that the Diocese of Cleveland had gained a good and capable shepherd to tend to their needs, especially in these challenging times, and look forward to working with him as he assumes his duties. We pray that God’s blessings be upon him and that the Diocese of Cleveland continues to thrive in the coming years under his leadership.
